Server Rules

Please read these rules carefully. All members are expected to uphold these standards at all times.

Community Standards

1.1

Be welcoming to all members

RPN is an inclusive space. Treat all newcomers with patience and kindness, regardless of their experience level or background.

1.2

No discrimination or hate speech

Discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or any other identity is strictly prohibited. This includes in-character justifications.

1.3

Keep drama out of public spaces

Personal conflicts must be resolved privately or through staff mediation. Airing grievances publicly is disruptive and will be addressed.

1.4

No advertising without permission

Do not promote other servers, communities, or external platforms without explicit staff approval.

Roleplay Conduct

2.1

Respect the established lore

All roleplay must remain consistent with RPN's established world and lore. Contradicting canon without staff approval disrupts the shared narrative.

2.2

Separate IC from OOC

In-character (IC) actions and out-of-character (OOC) speech must remain clearly separated. Conflicts that arise IC should not carry over OOC.

2.3

No godmodding or powerplaying

Do not control other characters without the player's consent, auto-succeed on actions without roleplay, or make your character invulnerable.

2.4

Communicate with your scene partners

Check in with your partners before introducing heavy or sensitive themes. Consent and communication are foundational to good collaborative writing.

2.5

Maintain paragraph quality

RPN is a literate to advanced-literate server. Minimum 2–3 paragraphs per post in main story channels. One-liners are reserved for casual OOC spaces only.

Respect & Behavior

3.1

Treat all members with respect

This applies everywhere — channels, DMs, voice chats, and external platforms if you're representing RPN. Rudeness, condescension, and passive-aggression are not acceptable.

3.2

No harassment or targeting

Repeated negative engagement with a specific member, whether subtle or overt, constitutes harassment. This will result in immediate disciplinary action.

3.3

Respect staff decisions

Staff rulings are final during an incident. If you disagree with a decision, you may submit a formal appeal through the support process — not in public channels.

3.4

Maintain a positive atmosphere

Chronic negativity, complaining, or spreading rumors about members or staff is disruptive to community health and will be addressed accordingly.

Content Rules

4.1

NSFW content is prohibited

RPN is an 18+ community for mature themes, but explicit sexual content is not permitted in any channel. Keep romantic and violent content tasteful and narrative-focused.

4.2

Use content warnings appropriately

Dark or sensitive themes (trauma, violence, mental health) must be prefaced with a CW tag. Provide enough detail that others can make informed choices about engaging.

4.3

No real-world harmful content

Content that promotes real-world harm — including self-harm, violence, extremism, or illegal activity — is absolutely forbidden regardless of fictional framing.

4.4

Keep content in appropriate channels

Post content in the correct channels. Roleplay goes in RP channels, OOC discussion in the designated spaces, and art in the creative channels.

4.5

No AI-generated content without disclosure

AI-generated writing or art must be disclosed as such. Presenting AI work as your own violates our authenticity standards.

Enforcement

5.1

Warnings

Minor first-time violations typically result in a formal warning logged in the moderation system. Warnings remain on record indefinitely.

5.2

Temporary mutes & timeouts

Repeated minor violations or moderate single violations result in temporary communication restrictions. Duration scales with severity and history.

5.3

Temporary or permanent ban

Serious violations — harassment, hate speech, major lore violations, or repeated offenses — result in temporary or permanent removal from the community.

5.4

Appeals process

Banned members may submit an appeal through official channels within 30 days. Appeals are reviewed by senior staff. Decisions made during active incidents are not subject to immediate re-review.

5.5

Staff discretion

Staff reserve the right to take action in situations not explicitly covered by these rules when community wellbeing is at risk. All actions are logged and reviewable.
